Abstract

Menopause, defined by the WHO as the complete and permanent cessation of menstruation due to the decline of ovarian hormonal function, is accompanied by a significant deterioration in the quality of life for many women. However, severe symptoms are often mistakenly perceived as the inevitable norm, and menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) itself is surrounded by myths and prejudices.
To address this situation, a dual approach is required. Firstly, it is necessary to identify the complex factors (both stimulating and restraining) that influence a woman's decision to take MHT. Secondly, it is important to implement objective assessment methods, such as the Green Climacteric Scale, which allows for the quantification of symptom severity. By synthesizing data from these approaches, we can create a solid foundation for addressing existing stereotypes about menopause and HRT and improving treatment adherence.
