Abstract
The article is devoted to the clinical observation of a patient with a giant bulla associated with COVID-19 pneumonia, complicated by ipsilateral pneumothorax.
Clinical cases of bullous transformation of the lung after pneumonia are very rare. And the frequency of «gas syndrome», as a complication of coronavirus COVID-19 pneumonia, does not exceed 1 %. Given the exclusivity of these complications, as well as the suddenness of their appearance, sometimes it disarms clinicians, especially outpatients, who are unaware of the possibility of such an outcome in the patients they observe, discharged from the hospital with clear signs of clinical improvement, without any CT signs of bullous transformation of the lungs.
In this article, the staff of the Oncosurgical Department of the M.V. A.I. Burnazyan cites a case from his clinical practice: successful surgical treatment of a complicated giant bulla of the left lung that arose as a result of COVID-19 pneumonia.
As of this writing, no clinical cases of these rare complications of coronavirus pneumonia in Russia have been found.
